Bike and Quad Trailer Build

I don't think there is really a "bolt on" fender per se. Rather make the ones you would normally weld on, a bolt on fender by either welding on some tabs or simply drilling holes and using some nice wide washers.

nice man! you knocked this out fast. I agree something on the front to hold the front tire and it's golden. and maybe a ramp to ride up

Only problem with a bolt on the frame fender in my situation is then my teryx won't fit. My deck is 60". Between the tires I have 64". The teryx is 62". Maybe if I put a 1 1/2" spacer between the frame and fender it would work.

I also plan on building a ramp with scraps that will mount up under the trailer.

Grant, where did you get the pieces on your trailer that the bikes sit in?

I may do that. I was all drilled out after drilling 30 holes.

I understand completely! This is my trailer right after applying the linseed oil--you can see most of the 192 bolts. :greg:

What lights are required on a trailer this small? I know size probably doesn't matter. Would I be fine with a set of tail lights that double as blinkers?

I plan on doing something in the front. Not sure what yet. I was just strapping it up to get it out of the way. That would definitely suck to lose a bike off the front.

Build a 10-12" tall frame and mount a Bed Buddy to it! - http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Pro...1&cadevice=c&gclid=CPeKvuDkqLwCFeYWMgodQycA8Q

Or build something similar... probably wouldn't be hard after building your own trailer. ;)

I may be wrong on this, but I've always been told that on single axle trailers, as long as you can still see the towing vehicle's lights, lights aren't a requirement. Again, that may be wrong so verify.

I would do taillights/blinkers anyway. You never know when you will haul a load that blocks your taillights. Better to keep Johnny Law away.

I got pulled over and ticketed for not having tailights on a single axle trailer and the trailer wasnt loaded... The trailer was roughly the same size as this one

For the record, I wasn't suggesting he skipped them, just that I was under the impression they weren't actually required (as he had asked)...which seems to be incorrect anyways :D I agree, they are simple, cheap, and easy to do. I would do some recessed waterproof ones though. When loading things on and off the trailer, you're just waiting to break the cheapo ones.

I already bought the harness, just hadn't decided on lights. I'd love to do recessed ones but I dont have a torch or anything to cut the hole out with.

That could work. I'm having a hard time finding a recessed light that is 1 3/4" tall or less. Since my tube is 1 3/4" id I need something that small or smaller. Anyone have an idea?
