I would really love to join in on this ride. Does anyone have an extra seat? I would obviously be willing to split gas.

Tyler, you and your 250 will have no problems on the trail. It actually only has one difficult section that is a climb up some ledges but the obstacle changes with every heavy rain storm. There is some loose sand but all in all you should be able to go in and out really fast if you wanted.

x2. I haven't ridden this trail on a dirt bike, but last time I drove it I tried to imagine it on a dirt bike. Tyson, I don't think it'd give you any issues. There's one spot that's got a 2 foot ledge you'll need to get down and up, but other than that it's not very challenging. Not much sand this time of year. You'll be fine. I could ride this trail, which means you could definitely ride it. It is completely different from AF Canyon. Completely. It's got slickrock fins, bumpy fire-road type stuff, rocky sections about a foot tall, and short steepish climbs along the slickrock. Some areas are bumpy, some are smooth. There are a handful of tricky steep rocky sections, but they're towards the end of the trail.

Cheston, check out this trip report from a couple weeks ago:

If I get my bike built in time, I may just have to join this ride. Don't put me on the committed list yet, put me on the fence. If it fills up before I get done, oh well, my loss. I'd be heading home Saturday night as well (or possibly very early Sunday).

I put in my request for time off at work today. So if I can find someone to carpool with I'm in.

Did hundreds of miles in this area with pre runners a few years ago and I'm really excited to go back on a bike.

Sorry guys, I've been out-of-town. I've added you all to the maybe list.

For those wondering about the difficulty of this trail. I think it won't be much problem. When I rode it, I had several things going against me. I was on a Husky 610 (hefty bike), I was a brand new rider (this was really my first trail on a bike), and my bike was loaded to the gills with all my gear, water, etc which made it so I couldn't shift my weight for the several different ledges (going up or down). The end result was I ended up breaking my foot from one too many crashes. Even with everything else going against me, if I didn't have the gear, I do believe I could have made it un-injured. This is part of my want to ride this trail, to prove I can do it no problem. Here is the trip report from our last ride on this trail.

As Russ said, I think on a bike, you could really be in and out pretty quick especially if there's no gear on your bike. Even more so if you're a semi experienced rider. :)

So what extra gear will be needed on this trip? Other than my normal riding gear, some water, and some snacks?

Whatever you feel you need to make it through a day of riding. You won't need to carry tent, sleeping bag, etc on your bike unless you are REALLY wanting to :D I think I'll plan to have water, snacks, and maybe something for a light lunch. Also, if your bike can't make it the whole way on a single tank of gas, I'd plan to carry something extra.

Its like 32 miles one way. Even a YZ250 2 stroke can do that. Have gas at the truck and you'll be fine.

When Caleb says he was loaded down, what he meant to say was he literally had NO room to move in the saddle. None, and thats not exaggerating.
