blown yj dana 35

I have a yj with a blown 35. I know big suprise. I was thinking about swapping in a 8.25 out of an xj. I know i need to swap spring perches and shock mounts. Other than that is there anything else i should know about. I am aware that the 8.8 is a better axle but i am trying to do this on the cheap. Already have the 8.25.

sell the 8.25 for a 8.8 lol all serious there is really nothing greater between a 35 or 8.25, 8.8 or if ya want to swap both axles 88 waggy wide trac front and 94 isuzu rear is the way to go.

to say it is no better than the 35 is... weird. if you get a 29 spline 8.25 out of a 98~ and up xj they have 29 spline shafts. any 8.25 obviously has bigger gears, tubes etc than a d35. people have a lot better luck with them

yes it will still have stupid c-clips (just like the 8.8) and it's no d44. i'm not a member of the 8.8 fan club or the 8.25 for that matter but if you have it, run it

score on the locker and shafts but i wonder how strong it is being an hp axle in a rear application... i guess you'll find out for us

Yeah he is a regular out there. We will have to see how it holds up, he hits his rear driveline on ledges once in a while due to his longer wheelbase and wants to try and fix it. Plus with his 9 inches of lift he could use a better driveline angle.
