well decided to build my rear bumper today i started building and forgot to take some pics so the first half goes fast.
Found smoking deal on some 2x4 by 1/4 tube ( thanks Steve)
It started out as 2 pieces 55in each and they were a little short so I bought receiver hitch to weld in the center and cut the ends to fit around receiver

Next I decided on the width I want to leave a little extr on both sides to do some side protection so made it 66in wide

Then I realized I had made a mistake the receiver hitch stuck out way to far luckily I own a plasma and cut it down and redrilled the hitch pin on the back side of the bumper. For mounts I ran the reciver hitch in the center and 2 more pieces of the 2x4 12 inches from center on both sides

Next I wanted to cut the least amount out of my truck bed to mount this luckily in my build I had boxed in the rear of my frame with some 2x3 by 1/4 steel so I made 3 good mounts with minimal body cutting

Did you use your plasma to cut the hole for the receiver hitch? I built my bumper a few years ago and have a receiver hitch, I am planning to install exactly like you did. But haven't got around to it yet. Looks clean nice work! Want to do mine next?

brandon i think we need to cut the square tube on the ends to match the curve of the tube and use sheet metal to plate it.I think it will look alot better then
