I'd be curious if the Gopro + wifi bacpac (assuming it works as advertised) would work. Supposedly it allows real-time wifi streaming.

Was at man night with Stu and crew tonight, at best its going to take heavy equipment to get through the damaged cribbing... Someone would have to front the money and plan the excavation on hopes closure can be found for the family.

I believe BYU students are probably to blame for the fire;)

^^^ I could be be wrong, but the mine that's popular for throwing burning stuff into is just a big hole in the ground. It's got a grate over it, but I've been told kids go out there and pour lit gasoline into it, among other crap, because they say it's bottomless. I doubt it's the same mine in question on the Powell case.

The mines are completly different. 2 years ago Mojave Underground did a publicized search of the mines off pony express. When they arrived at this particular mine, it was still billowing out smoke from a previous set fire within a couple days. They could not descend into the mine that day , but went back 2 months ago and both the cribbing at the top of the mine and at the bottom had burned and collasped inside the shaft. They descended down until the shaft was blocked with the fallen debris. It is supposed to be a 300 foot mine shaft. They went down 250 ish feet, and dug through about 10 feet of debris. 40 more to go.
