Yeah, I remember...your whole tub was gonna fall off on the side of the road.
Should have seen when they gave way, I think we was up Providence Canyon and I could feel something was wrong. :ugh: I still have no clue as to why and how they did that. I am not that fat. :D

It is more than possible...

Old Sluice on the Rubicon, disabled rig... so FIVE of us hop in a freinds FJ40... and high tail it all the way out in the dark having never done Cadillac hill & such. :D We hop in the tow rig @ the TH, head to Reno, parts stores are all closed... so we camp out on the trailer, stop by a Napa in the morning for a warranty, and head back in. We had the rig fixed in a hurry and back with our group, though 2 in our groups broke axles in the meantime. It was a very humbling trip.

I also broke a pitman arm in half... it literally snapped in two at the waterfall on Cat Canyon. We used a rambo key chain saw to cut 5" from a high lift handle, smosh it into an oval and sleeved the two broken halfs. We used a roll of ductape and 20' of parachute cord to keep the cast together. Amazingly it held to get us back to the trailhead. I now carry a spare pitman arm...

Mine was more severe - I was doing about 40... I wasn't even 5 minutes from the freeway or 15 minutes from heading up Price canyon, back to SLC!!

There was someone else last June that drove all the way to SLC (or beyond -Logan?) with no outer shaft in his axle (reason mine came apart). He's VERY VERY VERY VERY (Can I say it too much?) that this didn't happen to him at 70 over the pass. Nothing happend to him doing so, and that has been my eperience with running no outer shaft. After my experience, I will NEVER do it again.

what about the time when we was wheeling up in north ogden and u backed to that huge rock?
