Well today I picked up a trailer to start my bbq/smoker trailer build. I have a buddy with a tank that is maybe 5' that he had upright in front of his smoker and stacked dutch ovens in so saturday I should be picking that up from him to get this project started. I can possibly get another 4runner axle to match what is under my sidekick now and some larger leafs for it to handle the weight better. I am thinking of building this into a small trailer that can be pulled around in the back country if I wanted so once the tank is on we will look at everything and think about the axle and tire options to accomplish this.
Tomorrow's project will be cleaning the frame, replacing a few bolts, replace the rusted coupler and chains, and install lights. Luckily I got a gift card to harbor freight for my birthday a few days ago and used that to get a few of these items.
Any tips on different things? Or ideas you have thought of if you were to build a smoker trailer?
