one more thing. i dont think that a stereo system or tinted windows should be part of the modification list on a "built rig"

if anything these mods hinder more than they help the performance of a vehicle.

l........(preferrably no d30 either).......

Up until about 2 years ago, there were multiple rigs running UROC 'legends' class (whatever that is this year) with a D30. They're not the best axle in the world, but definitely aren't in the D35 class.

I like the idea that the vehicle should be listed as built for....rocks, mud, blah, blah....and to qualify as such, the vehicle must be able to perform in such a manner as not to break by a measure as determined by the terrain.

Built is one thing, I see a lot of jeeps for sale that say "Moab ready" what is that? Would that be built?

Some people's definition of "Moab Ready" is that all the bling is polished and the tires black & purty. So, no, I don't think "Moab Ready" should be automatically linked to "Built"

Certainly a topic that will never be clearly defined. Need a list of mods done and see if it fits the needs of the user/buyer. Same with the "moab ready" you see used so much. What trails are they ready for?

I would think, however, the term "built" can be used with less-than extreme mods, such as lift, 32-33s and locker. For most that would be what they consider built although for alot of people that is just the starting point.

it should not have any chrome, or a fancy exhaust tip that makes it sound obnoxious. a pretty paint job is not necessary, neither are fancy shinny wheels.
Oh crap. I've got two out of four of those things on my buggy. A little chrome and bling'n wheels can go a long way towards gett'n your picture in magazines and stuff. ;)
