In my neighborhood Comcast is the only option for highspeed, we are all on the same line and I know there are a bunch of us that have it (I can get on atleast three wireless networks from my office right now that are all comcast), and I know the apartment complex by me uses comcast for all its occupants as well, my point is...there's a ton of people on this line and I have never had my speed drop below what DSLs fastest is. BTW, who are you with that you are only getting 1M? Comcast's slowest is still 3M and their standard is 4M and they have up to 8M available.
EDIT: oh yeah, and if something else ever becomes avaialbel I will swtich simply for the fact that righ tnow I am not supposed to be hosting my server that I am

But . . . verizon seems to be slowly rolling this out. Pittsburgh was one of their first markets.
Does Utah have any fiber optic systems up and running yet?
I tried the upgraded package and saw no increase at all in download and my upload was just a little faster, not worth the extra $10 they charge ya for it. Comcast is actually one of the most expensive companies around, most other states have cable internet for $30 or less a montha nd DSL for abotu the same. You can get into a DSL package around here for $35-$40 with everything. I know personally I am paying just a hair under $60 a month for my comcast.spencurai said:I feel bad for people that had shotty cable companies in their cities. Comcast in Ogden has always been lighnint fast, reliable as hell, and priced...about the same as everything else wen you consider tertiary expenses. The only thing I am thinking about is getting the extra u/l d/l bandwidth for like 5$ a month.
