Hey everyone. just thought i would give you my take on my champion. Last spring i used it to pull my buddy out of forest lake up AF. Canyon. (brand new rubicant unlimited had 1200 miles on it ;}) Then that fall i pulled my buddie up mineral basin with his one tone chev sitting on his axles in snow (dead wait). And right after that found a guy up there that had rolled his wheeler down into a canyon used all my cable and straps to get him. I have been very impressed with it so far. The way i see it I can buy a lot of them buy the time i match the price of one warn!!!

I think you should have left him and his Rubicon in the lake to get a ticket....

Hey just a FYI. He was just on the shore and the mud up there is really slick. When he started going the more he tryed to get out the more he slipped into the lake. It wasn't on purpase so get ur panties out of a wad. I also truely belive in doing all I can to keep trials open but sometimes stuff happens. But we did out best to get it out as soon as possable!!!

It's an 8000 pound winch. Why would you have any doubt of it's ability to lift 3000 pounds?

Oh, you've been using Ramsey winches...

Ive used warn, milemarker, dayton & ramsey, none of those can deadlift their lbs. rating, they rate winches on what they can pull at a rolling weight, not what they can deadlift.

I could be wrong, but isn't that entire area off limits?

"Stuff" happens huh. I'll be sure to mention that at the trail closure meetings.

my panties are in a wad... you shouldn't be that close to the shore anyhow... Don't make up excuses.. say We were idiots.. did X.. won't do it again..

I spend way to much of my personal time (as do many others) trying to keep trails open to listen to people say "Stuff" happens... its not hard to see.."this is a trail" "This is a lake"...

I agree stay away from the lake stay on the trail. if you don't we will lose it forever. TooeleCherokee and friends have spent a way too much time helping fix the area and working with the Forest Service to have some yahoo tear it up. Don't give the Eco Freaks a reason to get it shut down.

Are these M.I.A. then? I looked again on costco.com and at the Bountiful Costco and found nada.

Ran across this review. Although it's not a rigorous review, it does give the sense that people are generally pleased with it:

I think Costco had a closeout sale & cleaned out their inventory, hence the $200 price. They have a larger one (10k I think?), but it's near $400. At that price you might as well buy Warn, IMO.

The Champion 8000s seem to have dried up, but Costco has a MileMarker 8000 for $339 including shipping. The sale price is good until June 15.

I'm going to think it over and probably buy one tomorrow.
