I got a new drag link and track bar last week, courtesy of ILean's home machine shop. Thanks!
I centered everything up and made a very temporary axle-side track bar mount so I could cycle the suspension and see if the track bar clears everything in its new higher position. I pulled the springs out and dropped the suspension to full compression, and found the track bar solidly contacting the oil pan. In fact, I wasn't careful enough and managed to dent the oil pan. Woops... That means in order to get the track bar perfectly parallel to the drag link, I would have to tear out and rebuild my frame-side mount. I really don't want to do that.
I built the axle side mount as high as possible, without hitting the oil pan. It's really close to parallel so I don't think bump steer will be an issue, but if I have to, I'll rebuild the frame side mount.
I took it for a drive and could tell an immediate difference. It no longer has much "steering roll", where the suspension leans over to one side when you turn the steering wheel one way, and the other side when you turn it the other. It handles much nicer. I can't wait to try it out on a trail.
