Here's what I don't get - Why aren't these things (sports teams for example, and now this vehicle) taken as a source of pride to the namesakes? Isn't it kind of cool to have your community represented by a national team?

In this local application they very much do support it.

Grand Liberty sounds stupid. Maybe come up with a some letter/number combo that hasn't yet offended anyone?
