I am a Glock geek! CC my compact 40 (its a little big for CC)

It does feel a little like pirate here today..... maybe it wasn't a Baretta. There are other guns with similar safety mechs.....

I took my class at Doug's Shoot n Sport (4800 S. Redwood). It was ok, they require a live shooting accuracy test (with a 22 pistol is ok for them). They did not do the finger prints or picture. I did all that right at the BCI office.

The finger printing was done with a scanner there. Cool and no black ink!

thats just it.were giving him **** for spreading false information.yes there a few gun with grip/trigger safeties but no Beretta was every made or modified like he thinks.there just is no room on the chassis for such mods.

And why in gods name would anybody modify a gun so that you had to hold down a safety in an unsafe why in order to fire the gun?

no, not at all.

It's one thing to have a fuzzy memory from Wayback, it's another to insist that a thing IS when it clearly and demonstrably CANNOT BE.

Ignorance is one thing, arrogantly defending it as fact is quite another. :D

At the end of the day, it's still the Internetz though. :D

I'm not defending ignorance or him. I am just looking at what he said "stay away from X because of Y." And later "been around a fair amount of guns but by no means an expert."

The mind is a powerful thing, in his memory he thinks its an X that had Y features. That has never happened to you? Where you might recall FACTS from some time ago with LESS than perfect accuracy.

The question I posed is if he had said IIRC (theoretically, I am aware he did not state this) would everyone still be busting his hump?

He already stated he was no expert, just offering CC advice. BTW, any choice except for a Glock is the wrong choice anyway, IMHO, IIRC.

Go for the throat man, that's the quickest way.....

Yes, and it's too
So if he had said "IIRC" would he be getting so much crap for just a poor memory instead of false information?
He got crap from me because he called me an ass as a result of his stupidity.

Speaking of concealed permits. I have a friend who is interested in getting one. But he was convicted of a felony. It was later reduced to a 3rd degree misdemeanor by the judge after the terms of his sentence were met. And it was not a violent crime or any of the mentioned crimes listed on the link provided by Brett. My question is would he be able to get one now that it was reduced to a misdemeanor? Or will he be always denied because was originally convicted of a felony?

Call BCI as it depends on the crime and how long ago it was.

My wife and I took the concealed carry class last night in Midvale. It was put on by Strategic Tactical Group. They run ads on ksl.com in the "Services" section under Firearms and Hunting Services. Cost was $25 for the class, paperwork, and fingerprints. It was a good class - very informative. They have changed the requirements somewhat because you no longer have to do the shooting accuracy test. You can look them up at www.strategictacticalgroup.com.
