I have to occasionally weld at work with TIG. I don't mind it, but cannot imagine doing it all day everyday. It would have to be one sweet job for me to ever consider welding for a proffession. For the money (in most cases) I don't think it's worth the crap that enters your lungs. Even with good exhaust the fumes and junk will get to ya in the long run just imo
CNC pays decent if you work for the right company. It would get really boring most of the time though :-\
Welding and Machining... Have you considered industrial maintenance? I see lots of new stuff everyday. Ya it's boring but the pay is a lot better than just doing those two things alone, and it's far less repetitive. You never stop learning stuff too
