Is it really a "Pandemic" if you have to be tested to even know if you have it? The real pandemic is how quickly every one gave up essential liberties for little security from our almighty government. The real pandemic is how quickly the sheep cowered in fear by the perpetual fact less garbage the media spews out.

Some economy grimness... 7% of mortgages are in forbearance. It's expected to reach 20% to 25%. The industry is mobilizing to deploy as many resources to the forbearance pipeline as the refi pipeline.
Unemployment is approaching 25% and still climbing at historic velocity.
US gov't borrowing is happening at levels that I never really even imagined possible.
That is some heavy duty serious shit that can't just go back to normal because it is told it can. The feds are preparing to start buying the bad mortgages after four months of forbearance to keep banks afloat and people in their homes. Eventually, that is going to have to look something like the fallout from 2008 with creative loan modifications and such. But the writing is on the wall, if the inability to pay mortgages causes a drought of demand and excess inventory resulting in seriously falling values, many people will eventually lose their homes.
Thinly capitalized non bank lenders will soon be a thing of the past, I think. Feds will save the really big ones (can't let billionaires become millionaires), but you can bet your bippy new regs requiring them to be capitalized like banks will come with the bailout.
And so it goes...

One more thing i'm tired of from this crap, (i'm watching a lot more TV than I normally do). Is anyone else sick of the commercials from what brand x or company y is doing to help, and that they aren't advertising they are just trying to help you by getting yourself more in debt by buying a new car or this or that with 6 months of deferred payments.

Let's dissect out the underlying disease of people who have died. If you are suffering from congestive heart failure and you catch it what is it that has killed you? The truth is you probably died of CHF with COVID being a contributing factor. Media and politicians don't want to analyze it in those parameters.
Real virus, partially real numbers. "COVID-19 death" is anyone who tested positive for COVID-19, but may not have died from it. This is pretty well documented. It's not 1:1... You get hit by a bus, collapse a lung, you test positive for 'rona, die from your collapsed lung.. congrats, you're now a COVID-19 death.
The numbers are inflated.

Isn't that how China has been counting their deaths? That's why their numbers are so low?
No matter how you look at it, a lot of people died this month that would not have normally died this month if they hadn't gotten covid.
I agree that the numbers are both serious, and inflated. I believe there is financial motivation for classifying a death as covid on the hospital/insurance side. Didn't the government say they were going to pay those bills?
Also, just like to mention that no matter how voluminous your foil hat is and what it's current capacity is at, we still do live in a place that allows us to discuss those things, own weapons, go camping, and generally enjoy many liberties that aren't available many places. Corruption exists here for sure, and we certainly shouldn't put a blind eye to it lest it gets worse, but I for one am still thankful to be here, for better or worse, than about anywhere else during these times.

If you'd like to hear the numbers from around the US as well as the world in a clear and concise manner, make sense of all of what is being fed to us - then get comfy and watch this press conference. These are facts... numbers easily explained.. It's not what you'll hear on MSM.
