Watched a grown man sneeze into his hand and then pick up/put back movies in electronics. Watched a kid that was old enough to know better put his hands on his mouth (with mom watching) and touch all the Lego boxes in toys.

Don't care what your opinion is on the pandemic, if a mask is needed, etc.... Just wow. Come on, people.

My wife and I were talking the other day about wanting to return to normal. We were also discussing what we would like to see continue in that scenario (sorry, I HATE the term "new normal") after the pandemic resides. One of the things I would like to see is her have the ability to work at least 2-3 days from home rather than having to go into the office every day.

The other thing we both mentioned that we wanted to see was that people would take their hygiene, cleanliness and overall concern for others a little more serious but based on your observations it doesn't look like that's gonna happen.

I have been working from home for 9 years this fall and in an office 11 or so years prior to that. I have said from day 1 of working from home that I can get more done in a half day than a full day in the office. Too many distractions in an office to get really productive. I am a very self motivated person that thrives working at home and not being micro managed. I think companies will learn that having (certain) people at home will be more productive. The flip side to the argument is some people will be way less productive at home. I can definitely see that with having my kids home with me the past few months.

As a business owner, after the initial set up to get people home (which has already happened for a lot of companies, post March 2020) I wonder if there is a significant cost savings? Smaller office spaces, less building overhead etc... This has changed the way the company I work for does business overnight. I would assume it has changed many other things in society too. Killing small businesses and pushing the general public to rely on eCommerce much more than before. I could probably go on forever about this has changed society and how business is done.

I am rambling on here, frankly because I have little no work to do right now. Waiting for emails to come across that may turn into commissions down the line... Happy hour is in a few!

My work (bank) may move operations teams like mine to WFH permanently. We're on week 10 (I think) and they're saying we have another 3 months at least before they open the offices all the way. They were having issues with our Tempe office running out of parking and other stuff due to growth and it seems this whole crisis forced them to see that they had a solution right before their eyes the whole time. We'll see what happens.

I think the problem is most people haven’t seen the impact of the virus. I mean a know a handful of people that tested positive and got sick for a few days but I don’t even know anyone that knows anyone that died. I mean it takes a lot of kids getting burned before they learn not to touch something hot. Tell people not to touch hot stuff when they aren’t getting burned and they don’t know anyone that has been burned. They’ve herd stories of some people getting really hurt but the impact hasn’t been close enough to influence them.
Then top that with the fact most people including myself think this thing just went way overboard. I don’t know I’m just not surprised at all people are acting normal.

Most of our sales and office production people have been working from home for the last two months. Strangely enough, we have had the best two months of sales and production in our history. We've jumped from the mid 40's in our company to number 2.

Velocity has gone up for both my teams since all the devs have been working from home. Not a surprise. Lot harder to get a stake holder shoulder tap or have a hot one thrown over the fence to take you off the rails when you aren't in the same building.

Corp doesn't want to hear about working from home as a thing once virus stay at home is ended though. Which suits me fine. I miss being able to walk half a block and get anything I want for lunch, sit on a patio with a pitcher and talk shop with coworkers and so on.

A coworker in Grand Junction died of Corona virus last week, the reality has had a decent effect on me. He got sick, had breathing trouble and got checked into the hospital. His wife also got sick and was admitted. She checked out in a week and 2 days after getting out, was told to come say her goodbyes to her husband.

He was 55 and was a damn good guy.... first person I know of that has been killed by this shit.

Haha. Though I have great respect for those that pursue a career in retail, this isn't what I do on the daily. I have a shift or two a week in the back fulfilling online orders. Jeep money, yard money, house project money. Take your pick.

These are all very unfortunate results of people's complete lack of self-awareness.

Lost my mom on Thursday to Covid-19. Hospitalized the 7th, died two weeks later. She was 71. It’s no shit. It’s hard to say goodbye to someone who was just happy and healthy a few weeks ago. My dad is also positive, and is in the hospital on oxygen. We are praying he makes it out alive. He is 75.

Thats terrible to hear Roger, hope you and your family are doing ok. Hope your father makes it, that would be hard to loose both parents at the same time from Corona. 😞
