Austin dragged the axle inside for me. like a fresh killed deer. 
I used my lift with ratchet straps so the extra axle was easy to disassemble.

I made some Toyota 8"alignment pucks since im pretty sure every 8" front axle comes bent from the factory and mine was no exception. I forgot to account for a spring pass on my lathe so i had to weld and rebore them. 
Way bent on the long side.

After i got the housing more straight I cut the balls free to correct the caster angle since i wrecked the caster angle when i clocked the pinion up. 
I rechecked alignment with a spindle while setting the caster.
I made some knuckle ball gussets out of dome 1/2" plate.

What's wrong with an Elocker in the front?
Nothing wrong with an elocker in the front. I'm just giving him grief on something that im sure he will expound on.

So this 4 runner came with a extra TRD e locker with 5.29 gears and I figured it was a good time to put it in. I noticed the pinion was loose so i went ahead and checked everything on it.

I was gonna put it in the front since the rear had some unknown locker that seamed to work well. Well the e locker wouldn't fit with the pinion clocked up because the e locker motor would be into the leaf. This is a pic of a mock up e locker houseing i had laying around.
So i gutted the rear axle and stuffed the e locker in it. The 4 runner came with 2 extra TRD housing but i felt it was easier to modify the ifs housing in it. The rear third ended up having a lockrite locker in it and i stuffed it in the front.

After all the e locker nonsense I fabricated a guard for the motor on it and tonight I cleaned up the six shooter knuckles and got them installed with trail gears single piece ball seals.

Testing out full bump. It gets pretty close with the f body pan.
truck pan is shorter front to back but deeper.

I modified the truck pan and installed it. Should be good for all the up travels now. 
I clamped it to my flat cast iron table with a .045 tig wire under it to preload the pan in the opposite way the weld would pull. We had problems with Alex's pan i did years ago that wasn't preloaded. His also had 3 times the weld in it.
Dry cleaning pass i like to do with the tig torch to burn out the garbage that comes with castings followed by another wire wheel pass. I also preheated the pan with my small crack torch.
