Double ended full hydro ram low steer on Dana 60

How are you mounting it so you can still get the carrier (and ring gear) in and out?


Its on a dodge 60 so it's 2 inches narrower than a chev . I was thinking ram clear to the drivers side

Anyone got any pics of there set ups?

Thanks in advance ps I know she should use high steer but it would limit her limited up travel even more

James, here's a pic of how I did mine. My diff cover will come off with my ram all the way to the driver's side. I also welded some brackets to my hi-steer arms and ran 3/4" grade 8 bolts and dom sleeves from the stock knuckle up to the hi-steer so that I could position my tie rods higher than the stock location...kind of a mid-steer application similar to the kit that Artec sells. Works great, and will allow me to move the tie rods up higher when I can finally ditch the leafs and link it.

When I built mine (ford 60) I pushed the mount as far as into the center section as I could and even made it come out and over the diff cover a bit to keep my Ram centered. 2 of the bolts a re a royal beeyotch to get to but once the cover is off and I pull off that side tie rod with ram turned all the way passenger its not even an issue.

Make sure you build a BEEFY mount and BEEFY guard for it or else it will be trashed in no time

I bought the ram used, so I'm not 100% sure which one it is. I'm using a Trail Gear 125 orbital. I love it! It works great. It's right around 3 turns lock-to-lock...perfect in my opinion.

I saw that I'll show my gf and let her decide.. Getting the steering up a little and running double sheer would make me worry a little less about her /her rig

This is my Trail Gear Double Ended 8" stroke ram my buddy mounted up for me (the guy under my tire) its on my 77 Dodge Dana 60. i used a pair of high steer arms i got off ebay for 32 bucks a piece and my buddy cory welded and grinded on them so we could run a bolt through it to the original hole on the 60's knuckle. The mount is angled up and its 1/4" with gussets on the inside, its welded to the axle tube and cory re-welded the tubes around the housing after pre and post heating them with a torch. works great as a skid! not greatest of pics i can get more if you would like.
