We now have a toilet at Dusy Creek. Right when you get there, not at the point. This trip was mid August, and is the second toilet funded by BFG Tires with the 2011 Outstanding Trails Program. The first went in at Thompson Lake October 2012, in the camping area closer to the lake.

This trip was at the end of October this year, I went in a couple days early and dug the hole(jackhammer is in the wooden box). This is the third and last toilet funded by BFG Tires. A fourth toilet will be installed next August at Mallard Lake, funded by a trail user and his wife(inspired by BFG)

There was a mess of roots.

Ran into rocks and had to scoot the hole over.

The rest of the crew came in two days later, after 10 hours on the trail(Friday). The next day they had the structure up in six hours, took me 5-6 hours to dig the hole(Thursday).

I don't know what's going on with this forum. I posted last night intending to come back and put in many more pictures, but the thread disappeared. Today I try to add more pictures to the original post, and the original post disappears. I want the pictures to be in order, and started at the end. So I was just going to shuffle them down. I don't have this problem on other forums.

I saw your first post last night. I don't see it now, tho I see the responses. I've reported your thread, hopefully Greg or Shane will be along shortly to sort it out.

Supported the roof with 4X4 posts because of the fascia cracking on some facilities.

Installing roofing.

This problem has happened on three toilets on our other trails.

This is how we addressed it on two toilets on Dusy so far.

Built a table too(at East Lake).

How long?

I spend 20-25 nights a year on the trail, scattered over about 5 trips. I go through withdraws in the winter, ha ha.

2007 was the last time I was there. I really want to get down there and just spend a couple weeks around that area.

I am a little new to this toilet building thing.. But can someone explain a little hole expected to hold years of poop??

The hole is 3' across, and 4' deep. These pictures are from a "moving" project last year, the pit was full.

The Dusy is one of my favorite all time trails. Thanks for all the hard work you guys are doing. Can't wait to get back there.

Rick, the little red yota is driven by the guy that pretty much invented the Toyota rockcrawler.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding.

Marlin is in our club and helps on projects when he can fit it into his busy schedule. Marlin is pulling my trailer, modified just to haul the toilet floor(it fits between angle iron front and back). It's made from a 1970 International pickup frame and suspension, Marlin likes the stability compared to putting the heavy floor on a Jeep trailer.

Awesome crew. Looks like a hell-of-a fun trail.

We "did" have an awesome crew on both of the trips pictured, people that jump in and get things done on their own. The trail has awesome scenery, really good challenges, and that wilderness feel for sure. I love it. I posted here because I found a Dusy thread while searching, and wanted to spread to word to those that might do the trail one day. Not only that, but just being a part of the 4X4 community. Someone might be able to take ideas from us, or help us with ideas. :D
