Yes you could just switch the signal output that trips the relay to interrupt it; or switch power to it to manually force it on.
Would it be for your '04 4.0L TJ?

The fan covers almost the entire radiator. And as much air as that fan moves I don't think you would see a difference.

What did you guys do for fan shrouds? I still have the stock radiator.

The Ford fans have a shroud; it is integrated into the housing. Look again:

That large squarish black housing is the shroud. You simply remove your stock fan and shroud and replace them both with this item. Simple.
