I got this on my front door when I got home last night:

On 9-6-05 after receipt of a complaint, an inspection was made of your property
located at XXX S XXXX W. This inspection revealed an apparent
violation of the City of West Point Municipal Section 20-1-3B (22).
Specifically, I noted “Dismantled and unregistered vehicles on premises”.
This office would like to solicit your cooperation and community
spirit in correcting the violation by 9-25-05. If this compliance is
not convenient, or if you have any questions regarding this matter,
please call me at 776-0970 or 628-6181 upon receipt of this letter
and I will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Nolan Evens
Code Enforcement Officer
City of West Point

This moron then leaves a letter showing my violation in the codes. 2nd and 3rd line on the notice say that vegetation can’t be overgrowing due to rodents, only 3 of us in the neighborhood have landscaping done. The other one was excessive dirt or dust due to lack of landscaping….

And I’m getting ****ing dinged for a Willy’s and a Mustang on the back of my house????

That sounds like complete bullshit. I'm too surprised to see that something like this would actually happen to have anything more to say about it.

The part thats really irritating is we do live pretty far out in the county in a sub division of all of about 15 houses. There is within a 4 block radious over 2 doxen vehicles matching the same description with no nitices.

a co worker here at work got cited for too many weeds in his yard (Roy)... good thing there are people out there stopping the weed's in lawn problem! I would really hate for a weed to stick me in the leg or something when I walk to the front door of someones house.

I have my 71 442 and my trailer on the back of my house on CITY PROPERTY and have never been bothered about it. It's a service road to the water treatment area in our neighborhood. The 442 is torn down to the frame and hasn't been registered for many years.

Guess it is bit**y neighbors month or something! I had my neighbor come ask me to keep it down cuz I was listening to "Phantom of the Opera".... I mean Styx.... :guilty: (my son likes the music :guilty: ) and grinding on my project. He was cool about it and just really wanted to give me a hard time (flippin me some shi*). I am just glad he didn't call the cops on me, not that they could have done anything since it was 6PM and there's no noise ordinance.

Most of my neighbors think I am a redneck anyways :redneck: but I am always good enough for them when they need thier car looked at  .

I have the same problem, but some have gone past just thinking it and have told me so. However like you they never complain when they need cars, lawn mowers, sprinklers, electronics or whatever else fixed.

It's not really suprising. I've been hearing more and more about complaints like this lately. Mostly, it seems to be people wanting to just have their neighborhood stay looking nice, and to this I can understand. Don't take this out of context, but I personally wouldn't want to be looking out my window and see a dozen vehicles in my neighborhood stripped down and parked in the front of the driveways of all the houses around me. That's just me though.

west jordan,
my in-laws got a citation 2 years ago because their boat trailer tongue came out farther than the front of their house  . they found out which neighbors had called the code enforcement people and went and had a visit with them. there have not been anymore complaints :D . they did comply with the citation as to avoid a fine. there has also been a lot of code enforcing in my neighborhood this summer. I have a jacka$$ neighbor that walks his dog back and forth along my side fence just to make my dog bark and then called animal control to complain that my dog is always barking. :mad2: why are people like that?

Oh man, I could go one forever, but I'll limit it to one incident (of many) with my neighbor to the east. He consistantly complains about my enclosed trailer on the side of my house, in fact he waters it every day just to be a jerk. Then I brought home 40 goosneck enclosed from Indiana that had my buggy and the other buggy of the guy that owned the trailer. I'm backing it beside my house and this jerk runs out. Says "How long are you going to keep this trailer here?" I say, I don't know, 3 to 6 months. He blows a cork and starts to rant that some things don't belong in neighborhoods. I say, hey, this is an RV pad and it will ALWAYS have something on it. That really pisses him off.
The ironic thing is that he's had a junk Cadillac ElDorado sitting by the side of his house for 14 years. When I bring that up he says, well, I can't see that from my back yard. What an a$$.

I got one....................

the people across the street always seem to have a minimun of 4 to 5 vehicles parked at their house, mind you 2 to 3 are usually on the street and none in the garage. They start getting visit from the city and the county, plus letter and even a couple of hefty fines.

Well the old woman(oh, I forgot there is a mom, dad, grandma, grandpa and 4 kids.) decide to point the finger at me as to why they are being singled out. Goes to all the other nieghbors and starts to talk abunch of smack. Finally she was telling one nieghbor her BS and the guy looks right at her and says "James don't give a flying sh!t what you do, just leave the man alone". I love some of my nieghbors :greg:

I wouldn't either, but if it's on your property, what's the harm? You should be able to store your things on your land IMO.

This is funny because the last time I drove through West Point, every other house should be cited for those violations. :D
Maybe West Point is trying to get a better image.
I live in a PUD with pretty strict CC&R's but I knew that when I bought the place and frankly, I'm glad the rules are strict because homes here have appreciated faster than the surrounding communities.

Tell your neighbors to focus on bigger issues and how they can help the relief efforts of Hurricane Katrina. Tell them that their negative problems should be geared twoard the governments poor treatment of the Relief Efforts of Hurricane Katrine and, make them figure how to help people instead of adding to the problem!!! Losers!

We had a problem in Tooele with people complaining about cars and that the weed/grass on the side yard was taller than six inches.

The weed/grass thing is more for fire safety. Almost every city that I know of around this area has a law/rule about making sure that the grass is shorter than 6 inches. Otherwise, fines.
