Extraction Expedition

Sounds like a great response. I won't be able to come, but if someone can take plenty of pics and write it up as a 2-3 page article we'd love to put it in the U4WDA magazine.

So we have Wally and Mbryson with winches that are coming. One of the other winches I was counting on canceled. The more winches the better. It would be great if we could double up on these trucks and make it easier on everyones equipment.
Thankyou to all who are coming. Maybe we will have enough manpower to pull the trucks out by hand, that would be picture worthy.

He said one is near the road and one is 100yrds from the road. We probably won't be getting this one back up to the road where it slid off. We will have to take it up or down the canyon to a closer point. There is an old road in the bottom so I think it is possible.

Usually the easiest way out for something like that is downhill. We may just have to bust snow downhill (if you get stuck going downhill, it's not good) until we can get the rig up on the road.

I KNOW I don't have 100 yards of winch cable. I'm thinking 50 yards if I'm lucky. Anyone have some longer cable they can bring?

I am still planning on being there but without say exactly where they are about how long will it take to get to them mile wise from tooele?

There should be plenty of places to park, and you wont be seeing a tow truck out there any time soon.

The trucks are about 40-45 miles from Tooele, It is close to 5 miles the other side of lookout pass. There is a nice large parking area just this side (east side) of the pass, where any body can park thier tow rig.

Thanks Karl 574-6785

I'm in the same boat with the tow rig/trailer thing. I'm kinda slammed at work (still), but it'd be nice to get out there. I can't firmly commit until about 7 pm or so. I'll know a lot more about then. Sorry. (we're changing some BIG network things at 5 today--if they go well, I'm in, if they don't, I should have brought some extra clothes :( )

Clear it up for me a little here; from where we'll park the trailers it will be about 5 miles to where the trucks are?

like I said before I'm all for helping just worried about my tow rig it doesn't like slick or dirt roads.
