I feel like some knobby tires would make this the beginning of a micro-adventure bike gang. Imagine 8 dudes in their 40's all kitted out in adventure gear, ripping down a road in the Swell. 😎

I'm really mad you started this thread. It has lead me down some serious rabbit holes. I now have a long list of bikes I must own, that I never thought I needed before. I think I am going to have to start a rotating bike fund, and buy a different bike every year for a while.

I just need to keep reminding myself that I actually have a real motorcycle showing up soon that’s going to need a lot of accessories to get ready for the adventures.

Haha no these my working on cars and stuff kicks. Custom sneaker thing has been kind of fun though I’ve done another pair for me and we did pairs for the boys yesterday that they were super stoked to wear to school.

Jeeper told me about this thread tonight. Having done stupid stuff on motos with Jake, I wish I hadn't seen it. I still have my pants bags if you want to test them out on the micro Adv rig😉. There is a dude called fooligan on yt who mobs a grom all over. It looks like a blast.

So I rode it downtown yesterday and met some friends for a few drinks. I rode down beck street and had zero issues maintaining traffic speed. I was able to really open it up yesterday and hit 72 on the speedometer but I think it’s like 12% high and closer to 63mph.

It really was a blast to drive. So far I’m pretty happy with it.

Oh and it’s registered. Super simple process. Vin inspection. Mso and bill of sale- (bill of sale can be simple and you don’t pay tax on freight so I would make sure the freight is marked accordingly wink wink). You don’t even have to get a safety inspection.

Fist tank of fuel was 89mpg but assuming the odometer is 12% optimistic like the speedometer it’s more like 78 mpg. Not bad for lugging a 230lb man around.

My boys really want to learn how to ride it and they have never used a clutch before so I’m going to try to get the rear brakes changed on the van and a rear rack built to hold the bike so we can take it out camping this weekend and let them crash it a few times.

I want to make the rear rack pretty streamline looking and not hitch mounted something the bolts on probably under the frame where the old receiver hitch bolted And probably some taller supports the time to the top of the rear bumper for some triangulation and load spread. I have plenty of 1 2/4” round tubing so that’s probably what I’m going to make it out of .bend those rear supports to kick up to make sure that it sits level with the bumper.

I actually sold it. I did love riding it. But was able to get my money back out of it and between the new 1050xt adventure, the Tahoe and the boat I was feeling like I over spent last year so letting the little bike go gave me some comfort.

That said I wish I hadn’t and have found myself looking at smaller bikes/scooters again.

So my younger daughter took an “exploratory motorcycle lesson” last night. A four hour long course with some classroom time and then lots of parking lot time. She’s hooked. We went looking today and saw that Navi for the first time. Looks interesting. I like the idea of the motorcycle looks but the ease of no shifting. Maybe a good first bike for her. But then I think just get a bike and make her learn it all. @Gravy got a review of your Navi? I wonder if she’ll get bored with it?
Also looked at a Benelli 130 something or other. I liked the looks of it over the Grom. I don’t know anything about Benelli. Any good?
Or just get her a Chinese bike?

I'm selling that Navi. I quite like it, but no time to ride it lately, other than to the store for eggs and milk. You can come borrow it for a while to see if she likes it.
It's pretty great, same size motor as the Grom so it's pretty quick, Honda reliability and the storage space is a huge bonus.

Absolutely a great first bike. Mine is a 2022 so very very much still new.
