I had the fortunate luck to see a flash flood mow down a wash from high ground near Escalante once, and I don't want to be anywhere NEAR a wash if there's any rain within 30mi of me after seeing it. 
I'm glad you guys all got out ok, too bad about your Jeeps though. That's good to hear the dealership is helping you out, too.
