Yeah, the line lock is ok because it's doing it's job - locking up your calipers!!!!! Take it out of there, or at least hook it up and you'll be golden.
The line lock, when engaged, is allowing fluid to build pressure, but not letting it blead off. Just like your's is doing. Apperently the one you have requires power to it to keep it free flowing, and locked when power is taken away.
EDIT:Oh, and your MC is fine, you've never been able to bottom it out, because the front brakes being fully pressurized hasn't allowed the MC to go any further.
