I actually found 3 of them at the same time. Turned friends on to the others.

I was also on here one night and in a matter of about an hour found about 6 donors for less than $500, but they were all out of state but most were driveable...ck out this thread read my posts and most of them have a find in em'pirate link

I think the only D60s with drum brakes will be closed knuckle 60s, meaning pass it up and get an open knuckle 44 before getting that

no, the knuckle is in the front unless its a hybrid custom axle that has rear steer. I you were talking about drums on a rear 60 then yes, there are a ton of bolt on kits available to convert to discs...rear drums work fine for most though, so that should no be the very first thing to get done toi the axle IMO

I thought I had scored when I found a D60F housing for $100. No shafts, no bearing caps.

After a complete rebuild,retro fitting, bearing caps, new locker, gears, shafts 35 spl lockouts (no sense buying new 30 spl shafts) bearings seals, rotors, brakes...it was an average deal. But I got everything just the way I want it.

Bottom line D60's are expensive to buy or build...take your pick
