What do you guys have and how do you like them? I'm in the market and I don't want to buy a piece of junk that's going to give me issues a year or two from now. Any recommendations?

We have the Kenmore front loaders. They are excellent just a little small. I think they call them "king size" capacity, but they aren't big enough for anything "king-sized". We have had them for over 4 years now and the only problem we've had is a baby sock clogging up the drain pipe. :p I would recommend them but make sure you get a capacity that fits your needs.

We got ours about a year ago, we have LG's. My lady is super paranoid about these kinds of things and did research for about 6 months before we pulled the trigger

I think this is what we ended up with, but ours are white

Just read about capacity, ours are huge, I can wash 6 full sets of my military uniforms and still have room. And these uniforms take up a lot of room

I have Samsungs and they are awesome. They get the clothes cleaner than non high-efficiency. They were super expensive ($2,600 for the pair) but I hope they last me the rest of my life lol

We bought our LG's at Lowes, I want to say we got them in the Spring of '08. Been going strong ever since with no issues. One great thing with the LG's is they are direct drive so no belts to burn up at least it was true when we got ours not sure if they still are or not.

Edit: Just clicked the link above and the specs say they are direct drive so I'm guessing they haven't changed. I don't think I would ever get a belt drive after having my LG's.

I have GE trashy front loaders and my wife and I hate them. Mine will leak out of the front door some times and some times the door will refuse to locking on the washer. The drier I have not had any issues with. I like how fast you can wash and dry your clothes with this style of machine. I think we just bought a junk brand. We keep the washer door open when not using ours so it don't stink. Also I clean out the peatrap about 3 times a year. I suggest everyone due that, you won't believe what ends up in there ( my wife's bobby pins). We have been looking into the newer top loaders my sister-in-law just bought some and loves this style more than her old front loaders. But again I bought the GE brand.

Frigidaire front loader here. I bought the cheapest I could find (I was single). Been working mostly great for 7+ years, although the washing machine sometimes leaks just a little. My wife doesn't like them, but they've been good enough she hasn't bothered to replace them. I guess she doesn't hate them too much, she just wants a fancy smancy set. No matter how you slice it, even the cheapest front loader I could find is much better than any top loader I've ever used. I probably wouldn't buy Frigidaire again though - spend a little more money for a better one.

Edit: kind of an odd question for a board centered around wheeling.

We have a set of Samsung front loaders. Super nice, as said a bit more expensive but have had zero problems with them. I know the LG's are nice as well. If I bought another set, I'd get one of those two for sure. We bought ours at Lowes, but to get the best deal we worked the system a little. Lowes will beat the best price by 15%, Sears had a sale on them, so we went to Lowes and made them beat the Sears sale price. One thing we really love about the Samsung are besides getting clothes super clean, they are extremely quiet. Our wash room is upstairs, right next door to my boy's room. He can be in bed for the night, or taking a nap, and we can run a load of laundry and you can't hear it at all in his room (or even just outside the door to the washroom). You have to open to door to see if they are on.

Correction we got ours from best buy. I remember they had a really big sale and free delivery. If I remember right we got half off on our dryer.

LG's are also very quiet, our laundry room is right off our family room. You really can't hear them running at all. The only thing you can hear on the washer is the water being sprayed in, the dryer the most noise you hear is the rivets on pants hitting the dryer

I kept an eye out for some on ksl. Ended up with a sweet G.E. set. Ended up paying $200 for the set with pedestals (have to have pedestals!) we got a smokin deal. Have has them 2 years now. Ocational clogging due to infant socks and $20 bill once. (Which stops water flow, throws a check code on the machine) I don't believe in their superiority, however I don't do the laundry. My wife swears by them and would probably trade me in for another set.
