Every year Macco runs a great deal for paint jobs. They sale there Presidentual paint package for half price. this includes clear coat at no extra cost.

As long as you have your body work done this is a fantasic deal. If they do the body work the cost goes up fast, thats were they hope to make up there costs.

Just thought someone might be ready or just about for paint and like to get thier rig painted cheep.

I think it runs about 3 weeks. Sandy Macco told me as long as they bid your rig before the sale ends they would honor it after it ends.

Just remember that old adage, you get what you pay for......

Materials alone for a quality paint job will run more than $200. I had them do a "quality" repaint for me. It was $1400, with no bodywork, but they did excellent work. Their special might be fine for a trail beater, but I wouldn't want it on anything else.

Agreed, I was going to paint my FJ40 outer body myself, But for $200.00 or so, I dont think its a bad deal.

I bet $200+ ;)

I called them about painting a camper shell and it was $250 (yet they will do an entire car for $199  )

No kidding whats up with that. :-\

It's either their cheap paint job or my rattle can paint job. Who knows maybe the rattle can will look just as good if not better.:)

So is it only certain stores offering the special? I went by the one in orem asking about it and they told me they do not offer it. They were kinda rude and well i wont go there for anything now. The service sucks. I just want to throw some paint on the jeep for cheap. If it gets rolled or anything i dont worry about the paint

After working for Macco (when I was 17) doing paint-prep, I'd highly advise that you avoid having them do any painting. You get what you pay for. ;)

Tv ad last night had the special.

For a trail rig its cost less than my free time to mask it all off and the cost of paint and tape.

this looks familiar. called on it last year for my YJ and they just laughed, said they couldn't do it for that. I asked about the quote and they said something about that price for a small car. Crooks if you ask me. I did a backyard paintjob instead and was in quite a bit $ for paint, reducer, etc.
This is a bait and switch campaign.

You're all WEAK SAUCE!
I had a Nissan truck painted on this special a couple years ago.

I had done all the body work and prep myself.

It turned out great.

Their masking left something to be desired as there was overspray on my tailgate handle, trim, and frame, but for my cheap truck it was great.

I wouldn't do it on anything nice, but on a trail rig, it looked WAY better than any rattle can I've done or seen.

I had it done to old Civic almost 4 years ago. I didn't expect that paint to last that long, but it's done pretty well. There were a couple spots where the paint dripped. They offered to fix it. I let it go. It just that big of a deal. For the price, what I got was OK.

FWIW, I decided to paint my FJ40 myself.
I picked up all the needed paint and equipment for under $300.00.
That includes matched single stage paint, respirator, gun, solvents, mixing cups, water/oil filter and more Hippo Liner.
Ive painted a few cars before in my lifetime, But its been about 20 years...

Same rig!!!

Some refer to it as a "20 foot paint job". Closer than 20' and you'll see why. :ugh:

$199.00 though I just might have the Yukon painted. :-\
