Gas/Diesel prices

Don't care about the price of fuel ehh? I guess you grow your own food, make your own clothes from the sheep you have out back and don't buy anything that was grown, processed, hauled or touched by anyone who drives to work and buys stuff that was grown, processed or hauled. And you have your own water well, don't use electricity, natural gas or the phone.

I don't think I ever said I don't care about the price of fuel... I just re-read my post (maybe you should too). I even said it will hurt. The price of all those things will only continue to rise as our demand for fuel outpaces our supply. Hopefully this high price will cause change in our society that will lead to lower energy costs, leading to a lower cost on all the things you mentioned. If you think that stuff is expensive now lets just continue down the same path we've been on and see how much those things cost when fuel gets really expensive.

You know... the money would stay here if we could drill in Alaska. We have enough oil, its just that we cant move a herd of Caribou a mile. The US has more oil than the middle east, the greenies just wont let us touch it.

When we truly need it, we'll go get it. Strategically, we may be better off using up all of "their" oil while it's still relatively cheap. We can pay 50-100 dollars per barrel until all their's is gone, and when supply is really tight, we can sell them ours at 200 dollars per barrel or more.

Hopefully we can develop better technologies to meet our energy needs before we truly have a supply shortage. Currently we have plenty of oil, we just can't refine it fast enough.

I honestly don't really care about the price of fuel... it sucks to shell out cash, but I don't finding it curving my fuel spending just because the cost per gallon has gone up. It is what it is... I don't ***** about the price of soda pop or beer either and both of those are VERY akin to gasoline in my life. I can't live without them, and I am too lazy to source them cheaper and or make my own ;)

PS, my road trip last week cost my $300 in fuel

I am with kurt and a few others, if you are gonna use it you will pay it, what chafes my ass is that rent used to be 300 for an adequate 3 bedroom here in canyon county Idaho, and now, 10-12 years later its 800 for the same house.

But fuel was 1.25-1.35 at that point, and now its 3.15

So I guiess it has followed a parallel, but the cost of that house to own, hasn't followed a parallel, what was 20 or 30 thousand 12 or 15 years ago, is now 100 grand plus.

Property value increase, that is the more painful raping of america, in my opinion.

I just find it interesting that Utah is one of the only states where diesel is more expensive than regular gas. I was in California and Oregon all last week and diesel was 10 to 20 cents lower than the low octane gas. Whazup with that?

Diesel has been more expensive than gas for some time here, it just got to the point where regular & diesel are the same price. I was in Winnemucca, NV last week... I paid $2.83/gallon for diesel... regular was .30 cents a gallon more.

Loosly related note:
I'm seeing lower exhast temps this year than last. I don't get it... Truck seems a little peppier too.
I understand that ultra low sulfer has been out for a while, and I understand that its supposed to be less efficient, and I'm seeing the results in my truck thinking "well that can't be right..."

In the UC diesel is actually less than 85 octane.... you know, like it used to be. I'm sure it's an oversight soon to be rectified.

We should mdrill in ANWAR, NOW, and get out from under foreign oil dependency. AND we should build more refineries to double the available supply. I know neither will happen, the oil companies are making so much money they are high on the smell of the freshly printed currency...:-\
