You nailed it! 1 That's exactly what I was trying for
. Actually, I was really just trying to build my Jeep, 2 the way I want to build it 3, not the way 4 some kids on a website think I should build it, to use it the way I want to use it, not the way some kids on a website think I should use it. Which doesn't include tipping it over.
It's all good though. I had kind of forgotten that I don't post here - thanks for reminding me!

1-percieved offense. response with sarcasm as form of attack due to overreaction.
2-if you dont plan on rolling it, 'cause thats how you wheel, then save weight and ditch the roll bar. But its not wise to assume you wont ever roll. ask me how I know, I use to have a sleeper jeep the kind you like.
3-Im glad he built the jeep the way he wants it. I was confirming what the individual already stated, that the AEV kit wouldn't fill his needs.
4- a response with an attack by assuming I am a "kid on some website".
5-Nice victimization of an one's own self to claim rape when no one has really made a serious offense. This same kind of attitude is what keeps the sueing lawyers in million dollar homes.
If you are wheeling I believe it is irresponsible to assume you wont roll.
I'm being attacked back. And you guys jump on with attacks.
I thought this was an "extreme" forum. That while welcoming newbies and beginners stayed true to its roots. I did not think this site catered to mall crawling where an AEV kit would be more appropriate and safe.
IF YOU READ, what was said by the author of the thread, I was simply confirming his choice and agreeing with him. If Supergper and DAA had actually read his opinions and goals instead of being so eager to spew out their owns opinions, then you would see that they missed his objective of not only clearance, but also protection! He also stated his opinion that AEV is overpriced. So I'm gathering it ok to state your opinion, but not contradict somebody's input that was pointless in a thread after they didn't read the poster's ideas?
Another question, since I do have some experience and know-how which is safely stated as more than most on this forum, it appears that I might step on toes and offend the regulars, for being a moderate wheeler that acts like he knows something once in awhile. Should I just keep quiet, it appears that more serious wheeling opinions aren't welcome here?
Is is protocol that we have to protect the novice? To say RME has hardcore attitude is ridiculous, people are very tame here. I almost wonder if that's why people rarely speak up. I started in forum's when I was a newb and appreciated it when guys knocked me up side the head when I had a bone head idea and also when my ideas where good so I would dedicate more thought to the subject. This is the most tame jeep forum out there. Is it protocol to not put start a fight, but jump on a bandwagon if a fight is easily blamed on someone else? That's the impression i've been given by a few on this thread, but it dosen't ring true to the site in general so no I wont give up on RME.
Are we jeepers that have opinions and are willing to knock someone's ideas once in a while or are we a bunch a of fragile ego whiners that can handle someone ripping on an idea we have.
Carl nailed it's not apples and apples. And the original poster never wanted and AEV mall crawl special. the gen-right kit takes more work to build, and lasts longer. It's price is more justified. AEV stays in business because of poseur jeepers and I dont like 'em. They annoy me, always have. Most give jeeping a bad public image and do stupid things on trails. Its the modern chrome wielding crew reborn from the 90's. If DAA is a desert dweller all he has to say is just that, that is fine, but when we a usually speak about rock crawling we dont have to cater to the minority and walk on egg shells when he dosent inform us. The poster isn't looking to desert road it, he's obviously looking to crawl in rocks.
