I guess it's only on The Mountain? I just got home and would like to see the end, but I can't find it on Dish Network. :(

What a D-BAG. He's right, if it did happen to his family last year, its classless. I am a season ticket holder and had BYU fans sitting by me who were like gays at the annual parade. Even with the a$$ whooping they got last year they acted like they owned Rice-Eccles. They were very flamboyant. If your gay, don't be overly in your face gay. If your a vegitarian, fine, don't eat meat but don't annouce it to the whole restaurant. If your a BYU, fan, fine....don't act like a D-BAG. I am not a BYU hater, I hope they win every game but the Utah game, its good for the conference and its good for the state.

Off the soap box.

The UofU asked my bro-in-law to teach some medical classes.. But did they allow him to do his medical school there after he taught there? Nope.. D-Bags..

But, we still root for the football team..

Let me add to the complaints... I went to the U of U for a while and hated it. The majority of my professors were pompous a-holes and the majority of the students were wanna-be hippies.

I transferred to Rutgers and saw virtually none of those problems. The only drawback was that I had to live in NJ :-\

Its cause they take all my money and treat me like sh*t.

So why not transfer? Its a big world out there and last time I check there was more than one ME program in Utah. Plenty of schools take Utah's credits on a 1:1 transfer ;)

You think the 'BYU Experience' would be any better?

I never felt treated like sh*t at the U. They are not there to nurture, they are there to educate. You get your nurturing in K-12 and pay to learn beyond that.

Back to the game, it was a great game. I felt bad I listened to it in the middle of Ruin Park in southern Utah but couldn't live with missing it on the same hand. Wish U of U could have held on to it but I'm already looking to next year.

I went to USU and hated it the whole time. The teachers blew there too and I felt like the school was out to screw the students. Despite its reputation, I was sincerely dissapointed in the quality of the ME program there. I wish I went to BYU, and I'm not even Mormon.

Nobody here is talking about nurture. The profs were a$$holes, as simple as that. I expect them to teach me and respond to questions in a civil manner when asked. After all, I am paying educate and they sucked at doing that.

Again, I did not get that treatment at Rutgers. I loved Rutgers but hated NJ. :p

And that is 100% subjective because I had dozens of professors at the U, many of which are the same as Lewis and I can't say I would designate one as an a-hole. Some were tougher than others, some were better teachers than others, some did not offer much out of the class room support. But that is the dynamics that college prepares you for, simple as that. You think every boss is going to be your best friend? Think they are going to hold your hand through an assignment. If you were best freinds with every one of your professors I'd say you have some rough life lessons coming to you in the 'real world'.

There are a couple professors that I still stay in regular contact with and consider role models in my life.

Kurt you are so positive and have such an optimistic look on life. ;)I think that is because you are all through. I may feel the same way some day if I ever make it.
Oh ya and having my student loans paid off would make a big difference for me.

Well, that's nice for you. I on the other hand expect to be educated when I'm paying for my education not to be simply considered an annoyance to professors who'd rather do research. Most of my professors clearly hated teaching. I have a suggestion for them. Don't teach. Just research. Everybody wins.

I wasn't in college looking for a best friend in my professors. I couldn't care less if they liked me. Why would I want to be a friend with an a-hole anyway? I wanted to get my education and get the hell out as fast as possible. In fact, that's the same reason I hated all the suburban hippies at the U. I didn't give a crap about their protests or festivals, I wanted an education and nothing more.

Work, on the other hand, is where I get paid to do a service. My boss fully expects me to earn my salary -- the same thing I expected of professors.

To be fair, the professors did teach me something - they taught me that they were irrelevant. I quit going to classes altogether and just showed up for the exams. That opened up loads of time for me. Instead of doing the required amount of homework I read entire text books and did every problem in the book. Plus, I was working full time while raising a family and I even had some free time. My grades improved a lot when I did that.
