Angie and my brother (kidney donor) are no longer matching. This is due to her PRN levels are high.(No idea what that is) We have been trying for almost 3 years to get this transplant and now this. When Angie and Aaron matched it was right after her first stroke. Angie is now back on the "list" but I was asked by the transplant cordinator if I had anyone else.:-\ I was the first to be tested as was several other family members. IHC is looking into those tests to see if anyone matches now. The larger the possible donor pool the better.

Soooo anyone wanting a few days off and has a spare kidney, please call IHC 801-507-3380 My insurance pays for your surgery and hospital bills from this. She can answer any questions. Just because you drink/smoke or a hippy doesn't mean you can't donate. I'm going to encourage my 3 brothers to donate theirs and I will myself to anyone that doe's match us.

And to make matters worse it was my wife's birthday monday (30) and I got to practice CPR on her grandma last week, she had a stroke.

Angie is recovering from 2 strokes (2006) and is up for her 3rd kidney transplant. She is walking, talking and is almost living a normal life now after 10 months in hospitals/care centers. At one point she was on breathing machine for 60+ days and pumps galore.

Thanks again RME.

I just spoke to Eve, not good. The chances of any blood relative of mine or Angies that would work is very very slim. We've been advised to ask our In-laws or friends to donate.

O+ or even type A might work.

Typically the donor is out 3 days then can not pick up anything 30lbs and heavier for 2 weeks. I believe the only restriction is no more Advil. Eve can answer any questions for anyone.

Joe, I'm going in to SLC Friday. I'll see if I can hook up w/Eve and see what's what. I can't for the life of me remember my freakin' blood type.

She's come this far, it'd be a shame to be held up at a little thing like.. a kidney transplant. :D

It'll be like one of those horror movies where the recipient takes on traits of the donor.

 ok.. let's not push the analogy too far. *shudder*

Damnit Jeremy! I said DON"T push the analogy!

Listen up, small fry. -_- Wait a second. 543pts for ruining Joe's sex life in advance. That's awesome!

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I'm O-. But I thought O- was good for anyone. That's what the blood lady said. That I was "special". Or maybe she just said that to make me feel better.

on a positive note,

tacoma, you are my hero for offering such a sacrifice at the drop of a hat.

good on you, brother.

Not exactly the drop of a hat... a few years ago a guy I know had a best friend's son diagnosed with some kind of aplastic anemia... Kid was 18 at the time, and needed bone marrow. Crickets were heard in his thread, and I got thinking about it... anyway I decided that I could do better than just wish them all luck, and got tested, which SUCKED, not a match, but I thought "If it was my kid and I asked for help, how would I feel knowing someone could have helped but didn't...". I'm in reasonable shape, so if I can help with some bit of me that might keep someone alive, or living with better days, then I'm all for it.

Anyway. :D

I told him, Joe. I can't say I'm not pleased with the outcome though, it's so awesome. I owe Jeremy a beer I think. If I'm a match that's gonna be sweet.

Sucks that you lost the donor. Hope you find one soon. I'd offer, but I may need a kidney myself one day (or I might be fine?) but I'm not in the donor pool.
