to change a throttle body about 10 mins, but to go buy one (junk yard or whatever) is gonna cost me more than I have right now (zero) :-\ anyone have a spare TB I could try?:p
mmkay, Hickey's brain here again. Am I right in thinking that a TBI is basically like a carb, in that the fuel is introduced into the venturi where it is atomized/mixed with air to create the volatile potion? Only real difference between carb and tbi is the control of the mixture being mechanical or electrical? By this thinking, shouldn't it run on starting fluid even if the TBI is malfunctioning?

Jeremy (who also doesn't really know how to use a timing light either)

Caleb... what's your address? I'll come by in the morning. :)

Not that I can guarentee we'll get it running, but I've been in this very situation a couple times... experience is handy. I'm telling ya, the Dist is Bass-Ackwards.
Here is a man who recognizes that backfire. What time? maybe I can come by at the same time and confuse us all more, before I go Camper shopping.... yes Camper Shopping :D

EFI has a Venturi? I think you've been eating to many Flamin' Cheetos. :ugh:

But, yes... if the TBI isn't delivering fuel (and everything else is working correctly) & you spray in some starting fluid, it should fire/run.

Just run by my house and I'll take you over there. Venturi, float, jets... those are the only carb words I know ;)

Yeah, ummm... about that... what's your address? I've been there, but it was over a year ago! PM please! :D

My brain again, was assuming the venturi is the name of the place where the fuel and air mix before entering the intake runners. Wait, the venturi is the speedy uppy thingy, like when something gets pulled through a funnel? Man, I am dumb at this stuff.

The fuel is pressurized at the injectors. Once they get the signal to open, the fuel is squirted out & atomized, then sucked into the cylinder that's on the downstroke. No venturies on a TBI... ;)

So, okay wait. I guess it is self explanatory. TB=throttle body. The bottom of the carb is a throttle body too. I got it. I was just making it more complicated than it needed to be. You wouldn't believe the number of hot chicks in choir

So what was it??? Just need an exorcism?
Yeah, Elder Gardiner and I went over there and gave it a blessing. Some gremlins had got in there and turned his distributor 180*.

And I still do not know how to tell if the engine is on compression or exhaust stroke. :hickey:
