A few buddies and I went to Rattlesnake and Constrictor today. It was my first time to Constrictor and it was a blast. Made it to Eagles Nest with no problem. I'm sure I could have gotten up it, especially with some help form the anchor but the only thing I couldn't figure out was when I got up how would I get down. I didn't get to attempt it because I didn't want to risk getting stuck up there. Any info on how to get down would be great. I want to try it next time I'm out that way.

I have always liked going up to the top of the trail and taking the fire road down. I do know people that winch down but i am not willing to.

I figured winching down was a possibility but did not want to attempt it with my daily driver. '04 Unlimited 35's locked f+r. I didn't know there was a fire road down but good to know. Where's the fire road come out at?

It just goes another hundred yards or so then starts to wrap southeast back toward the big parking lot. I would love to watch someone hammer down the nest without winching, some good carnage I'm sure.

I have driven down the nest once (unassisted). it deffinately had my attention, but it wasnt quite as bad as I thought it might be.

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
So whats the latest scoop on the Nest and 35's? Anyone done it? What wheel base? Smallest tire I saw was a 37, and a buggy at that. Still was no walk in the park.

I thought one of the first rigs up the Eagles Nest was a 2nd Gen Toyota P/U on 35's. The driver had no fear of breakage or damage, so I'm sure that helped. :greg:

Coming down the nest with no winch isnt really that bad. If I had a rig that I was super worried about with paint and all it might be a different story.

I made it on 37's at 118" wheelbase. 2nd gear rear case. It took 3 or 4 trys to find the line. Pics will be in my trip report here in 30 mins or so :)

The last little bit of the trail that wraps around to the parking lot is the funnest part on constrictor if you ask me.

Yeah, theres a couple fun sections in there. I always wish the trail was a little longer. just because theres some fun stuff in there.
