So, my brakes suck and after talking to a vendor at the arena during Safari, I think hydro boost brakes might be my answer. I have a few questions though (my Jeep has a Chevy MC and booster with a front waggy 44 and TJ 44 rear with stock brakes)

- Is anybody running hydro brakes, and do you like it?
- I just installed hydro-assist steering, will this interfer with hydro brakes?

Looking at this page (http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19445), it looks like they recommend

:87 or older Chevy 454 master cylinder, and a hydro boost booster and pump from a 96+ 454 truck

but will his work on my CJ, and if so what mods will I need to make?

Also, I've heard that with hydro brakes that you can't steer when you have the brakes on, is this true? Would an additional reservoir help, also, I'm planning on installing a cooler.

Ideas/suggestions?

I know RedRock4x4 sells a Hydro Boost system, might want to call them & ask your questions.

Here's the kit they sell... some pretty good reading that might help answer your questions too- http://www.redrock4x4.com/shop/products/554.html

Hi-Flow Process - This is a process you’ll need if you add Rock-Ram, Ram-assist steering or full hydraulic steering. Rams use more fluid then a typical Hydroboost allows, so Vanco hi-flow machines the units internally to greatly increase the flow so any vehicle with these types of steering work perfectly.

They do work very well. I have the hydroboost brakes on my 85 chev 1 ton 4x4. One trip to the Gorge I had to lock up the brakes at 55 pulling a fully loaded truck and boat when a dog ran in front of me. I left some pretty good skid marks and luckily missed the golden retriever.
