So, my brakes suck and after talking to a vendor at the arena during Safari, I think hydro boost brakes might be my answer. I have a few questions though (my Jeep has a Chevy MC and booster with a front waggy 44 and TJ 44 rear with stock brakes)
- Is anybody running hydro brakes, and do you like it?
- I just installed hydro-assist steering, will this interfer with hydro brakes?
Looking at this page (http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19445), it looks like they recommend
:87 or older Chevy 454 master cylinder, and a hydro boost booster and pump from a 96+ 454 truck
but will his work on my CJ, and if so what mods will I need to make?
Also, I've heard that with hydro brakes that you can't steer when you have the brakes on, is this true? Would an additional reservoir help, also, I'm planning on installing a cooler.
Ideas/suggestions?
