I voted

Republicans vote on election day, only Democrats and the elderly vote early. Also, many working peeps get time off to vote on election day, I went before work because I am a [r]epublican.

Serious question....were only certain people eligible to vote early? I voted a week and a half ago, there was zero wait time. Plus I got a stupid little sticker that said "I Voted Early!"

I'm just surprised as many people waited until today to vote, if they had the option to do it before now.

I had the option to early vote but each time I drove by the polling station the parking lot was always full so I drove on past. I went today expecting a line, I had to wait for one guy to give his name, I was in and out in less time than it took to park.

I predict you'll stand in line for an hour and a half. :D I got there at 7:15 AM and got out at 8:30 AM. It was good to see so many people vote.

I noticed something interesting and I'm wondering if anyone here knows the answer. The first question is optional (party affiliation). If you select anything on the first question, it greys out the option for a write-in. If you leave the first question blank, you can use the write-in method. I thought it was weird that your options changed based on how you answered the first question. Government wasn't my strongest area in my studies, so it's very possible I'm missing something here.

The first question allows you to vote straight party.. so you don't pick for each one. It would just mark all Republican through the entire ballot, saving you time.

What a stupid option. I guess if you're a lazy voter and you vote for your party rather than for a candidate that'd be an easy button, but that's scary to me.

Thanks for explaining that jeeper.

If I knew a Democrat that saw the constitution as something more than a document that gets in the way of the real work that needs to be done and sees government as part of the problem and not the solution, I might consider them.... do you know a Democrat like that? The hard work separating the [R]epublicans from the [r]epublicans so the party line button does save a lot of time.

A recent example would be [R]epublican Bob Bennett vs [r]epublican Mike Lee

I voted last week, which makes me Libertarian.

There are plenty of libertarians and constitutionalists that I like. I think by segregating all politicians into two groups and voting on the party the affiliate with rather than their personal views/politics is extremely dangerous.

Just got back from "wasting" my vote(s). Took about 7 min, no line. It will get busy after 5:00 though.

Agreed. I've read through several of the candidates profiles, info and views before writing down my choices before today.

It took me all of 2 minutes to vote. My polling location had at least 15 machines with 12 poll workers.

What did everyone think of the 2 constitutional amendments in Utah?

Same as above took me longer to park than to vote, no line plenty of workers and voting stations

Ya I'm bummed out. I know some on here may feel differently and that's ok but I was really not wanting HIM back in office.
i wish there was the perfect candidate but that's never going happen.

Personally, I didn't feel like Mitt's policies were that much different than Obama's. I found my perfect candidate, but apparently he wasn't enough of a "politician" to make it to the finals (which is a huge reason why I like him). Herzog knows who I'm talking about...
