According to the route Marc posted, I would likely be in for marker 2 to 5/6
That’s pretty much the parts I would not want to miss. Jarbidge is waypoint #1 and could easily be skipped by any or all attendees. It’s an easy separate overnight trip for most of us.

Waypoint #6 parallels highway 12, so you can exit the dirt and make great time coming back on asphalt.

I doubt we’ll be able to run the entire length of the IDBR from Nevada to Canada. Its just a ton of time. I would really like to make it from Stanley, ID to interstate 90, though. We all have a lot of research to do in the mean time.

I’ve never been on any of the IDBR route between those points, but I’ve taken my work truck as close as I possibly could over the last few years. It’s a large section of Idaho that absolutely need to fill in on my personal “been there” map.

Looks like a possible pass through Idaho City. Lots of good Huckleberry ice cream can be found there.

Idaho City is a good possibility I think. We will definitely need several refuel and resupply points at towns larger than most of the small ones along the route. Nobody wants to pay $9 for fuel and I don’t want to pack the full 7 days of food and water.

Love the concept and would love to participate. Just not sure this far out, since we have commitments in many areas

Would be a great way to use our scrambler as an "expedition" rig

A buddy tried to do the whole thing by himself last year. He started at Jarbidge. I'm not sure which section or sections but he said he had a few whole days of Murdoch basin style baby heads that slowed him way down. And he had to bail out for some repairs at one point and lost a couple more days. He ended up running out of time way short of finishing the route.
