My Jetta had been that way until 2 months ago. Ended up missing a couple days work & the wife had to bring the Dodge & trailer up to Wyoming to pick me & the car up. Like I said, I'm tired of working on our cars.

Yeah, but when the honda breaks it's easy to fix and get parts for 'cause its not German! :D

I hate working on German cars. I feel the pain.

I used to feel that way too, but this Jetta has been great. The $$ that we've saved from owning the TDI that averaged 45-46 MPG has been unbeatable. When the car died I thought the fuel filter was plugged so I swapped out the filter in a truck stop parking lot in WY, but that wasn't the issue. My problem wasn't actually the cars fault, there was a buildup of biological sludge in the diesel. It plugged the fuel pickup and stopped the car dead in it's tracks. Once I got it home, I cleaned out the fuel pickup and it's been fine since. 205k miles on the Jetta and it's running great.

sorry to hear.

First time in 5 yrs I've been laid off. I have some plans, could always go to work in the oil fields, but that's the last option.

I have three jeeps, a chevy truck, and a toyota. My extended family has 13 Jeeps among them and my garage is the favorite place to hang out for fixes and upgrades so I know how busy it can be keeping up with all the repairs. Add to those fixes the boat, mowers, motorcycle, tillers, snowblowers, mulcher, edger, weed whackers, chainsaws, etc and home repairs I hardly have any time to relax.

No so long ago, my daily drivers consisted of a 72 Chevy 4X4, a 68 Corvette, and a 59 Napco.. I finally got fed up with the never ending tinkering, and sold them all to buy something brand spanking new. I do miss the Vette, but I'm glad I made the change. Life is much nicer when you can tinker on what you want to in the garage.

The really bad part is three really sweet Chevy's gave their life for one new Ferd............ :(

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Those were nice rigs.

But that is a sweet garage, lots of room in practically every dimension. A measure for all to imitate!!!:greg:
