Well I settled on "build new axle from scratch"

On Monday I ordered

one of these

and some .5" wall DOM :greg:

They should be a driver drop housing by the end of next week....

I will round it out with alloy shafts, some 4.56 gears, Summit Machine drive flanges and either a detroit or a popright....

I'm using Chev inner shafts because there is only one frickin length for all Chev's and Dodges vs the *723 for Ford and because other than the magic year of Ford, Chev/Dodge gives more room on the short side for a coil bucket.

I'm using Ford outers for 2 reasons 1) they are shorter, shorter is  2) with Chev/Dodge you pretty much HAVE to buy new spindles/hubs/brake components... however with Ford, the junk yards are full of TTB 50s that no one wants.... All of the parts from the knuckle out bolt right onto my pretty Reid knuckles :greg: TTB 50 worthless? I'd say not :greg:

So I was out at the Meat farm the other day, saw a lot of parts sittin around, but nothing getting done on Heep.

Meat, you might as well give all your parts away, cuz you're never gonna finish building anything!!!
