Cutting spending or living within your means is not the route congress has chosen. That is the reason we need to vote the bums out. It would be nice if we could get congress to balance the budget each year based on the last years income. It is too bad they found out they can get re-elected by giving people money which really isn't theirs to give freely without any concern for how much is available for necessary and Constitutional things.

Oh, and speaking of churches. I pay my 10% to my church and approximately 24% to taxes, fees, license, etc etc to City, County, State and Federal agencies and know that the 10% is being used wisely but don't like what the 24% is being spent for. I noticed on my last property tax bill 80% went for schools and they that feed at the trough are still asking for more.

You mean you want someone else to balance the budget. Cutting spending isn't the answer, its getting more revenue I guess.

yes, collectively i think we all want to balance the budget. we elect and pay representatives to do so. that's not working out very well. unfortunately, cutting spending is the first thing we do when faced with a financial shortfall. we have no choice. the top however does not play by the same rules.

we agree. too bad neither of us will live to see that day.

i think its all about posturing on both sides. pretty lame.

legalize all of them, make them citizens and force them to pay taxes on not only what they earn here, but what is sent home. They don't want to become naturalized, goodbye! Fine the fawk out of employers who do not comply with said regulations.

i am conservative on some topics and very liberal on others. the post above is what i would consider a conservative opinion on a current event. this comes from my experiences living by the border and having illegal emigrants within my extended family.

most of my comments should also be regarded as tongue-in-cheek. its completely benign, to me its no worse than members quoting scripture in their sig;)

its just a ride

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I'll be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about politics and what not. But just today my family was tring to remember who the last president was that did not get voted back into a second term. We were wondering what Obama's chances are.

Anyways, seem to me like everyone likes to sit around and complain about how bad things are and what they would do different. Who will get up and do something about it though? I would vote for a non politician in a heart beat over anyone else. I wonder how a buisnessman would do? Say Bill Gates or maybe Donald Trump?
