Just got this from SeaBass44 (PBB member) @ www.12voltguy.com

:D

The extra LED (red) is for the "over heat light" present on the new line of Warn winches. The green LED indicates that the IN/OUT switch is powered and ready for use. Great craftsmanship! I can't wait to install it

I bought the same one a couple months ago (without the green light) - haven't installed it yet.

Seems like the guy has good stuff.

If you go to www.roadlessgear.com they have one too not as fancy with all the lights but the arm switch has a light on it... it comes with all the wires and instructions for $29.99. it measures only 2"x3" real sweet deal!!

Personaly I run a wireless remote on my Ramsey 12,000 LB!

Sure... but you can own a Toyota... or settle for something not as fancy... like a Jeep... ;)

I prefer the bling and high quality switches & LEDs

being the cheap bastard that i am, i copied the guys idea for about 15 bucks in switches and 15 in a selenoid.... six states had everything

remote starter-style selenoid turns the winch on and also an led on the dash

a momentary switch runs the winch in and out

my buddies make fun of it, but its so nice....... i wired it in a way that if i need to, i can still use my remote, so if my rig is in a bad spot, its only the rig going down....

and last week i picked up a 5/16x100' winch rope from Rocklogic

yee haw i love my winch

So you spent $30? How is that much cheaper than the BLING unit?

I ran my remote through the firewall, and hang it on my rear veiw mirror (have a second $2 EBAY remote under the seat).... Redneck Bling??
But, the price is right.

You can also cut that momentary toggle out of the remote, and just use the switch and the wire. Mount the switch permanently in your dash or wherever, PRESTO....in-cab controller, not even hanging from the rear-view mirror. :) Y'know, since you already got a replacement for $2....

That works great, but those instruction can only be used on an older Warn winch, utilizing a 3 wire system... And even at that, I don't like the idea of running a hot 12V all the way from the winch, into the cab, through a switch, and then all the way back to the winch. There is no reason why you can't pull a fused 12V source under your dash (radio, CB, etc) and send it through the SPDT switch to power the IN & OUT. That way you only have two wires running from the cab to the winch, and no HOTs. I would worry about them getting crunched, melted, cut, etc... then it would turn your winch on..

My winch (Warn 9.5ti) is a 6 wire setup, it requires at least 4 wires run into the cab... 3 for the winch (1 in, 1 out, 1 common) and one wire for the overheat LED. Then I must pull power and ground from my dash and run a DPDT switch... Cake :D

The hardest part is getting the correct resistor place on the overheat LED, and making it blink :D

Full write-up coming soon :D
