I have a 1987 Jeep wrangler it has a chev 350 carb motor in it. I want to put a 700r4 tranny 1987 or up (86 and down had their problems) and I need to know is their a kit that I can buy or a wiring diag that some one can show me to make the lock up work auto I have seen the ones with toggle switches in them. I am getting old and forgetful and I'm sure I forget to flip the switch could some one give me some info. I used search and it came up with nothing. thanks

I have ran a few 700r4's with no electronics hooked up to it at all and they ran just fine. They were "built' trannies though so not sure if something was done to them to make them this way.

I'm buying the kit really not too bad price. You drove in one tell me how they work. Manual operation/automatic/both????

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
I don't remember which kit I have, but it locks up fully automatic. It also comes with a load switch that will unlock it when the engine is under load. Works great and very simple to install. No switch to mess with. If you're still looking for one let me know and I'll see which kit I'm using. Don't forget your TV cable. No, not that one. A throttle valve cable. You'll burn your tranny up in a few miles with out one. And make sure you check pressures after hooking it up so you know the adjustment is right. ( on a side note, those pressures are pretty high. Make sure you remember to tighten the hose clamp on your line coming out of the test port. Otherwise you'll end up with a garage wall covered in tranny fluid. Don't ask me how I know this.)
