Unless you're trying to merge on the freeway or something...

Unichip,AirRaid,Magnaflow all solve those issues. Then if you get bored there's that extra supercharger sitting on the rack at TeraFlexPLUS for a JK. I really, really try hard not to think about it.

My BIL did that for the Fed-Ex Freight diesel yesterday in front of my house... the truck was jackknifed into the neighbors yard before Tom gave him a tug :D

...but why do I have to do those things? Shouldn't it come with respectable performance from the factory?

take a look at the video again and watch the tow chain... most the time its laying on the ground until the truck stops and the jeep starts spinning it tires... and then the truck pulls forward some more... I think this was all staged....

i doubt it's staged... if you look at the strap at 40 seconds(which is when the semi is most stuck if you will), you'll see the strap is taught. I think any rig fighting for traction while pulling a rig that is also fighting for traction will see one rig catch traction at a time that the other isn't, thus both tightening and dropping the strap.

You sound like me beotchin' about no D-max in the burb (for years).

Shouldn't a powerjoke come with a chip? SHouldn't a CJ/YJ/TJ/JK come with D60's?

Yes, it's pretty pathetic that the 3.8 is the only engine offered. But it's no different than pre-rubicon when you had to swap in different axles, t-case, lockers, etc, etc costing as much or more than a supercharger.

The interweb is full of boards trashing the 3.8...but they continue to sell them like they are going out of style...big time backorder.

What is the tow rating on that JK? 3500 pounds?

The engine and frame rails on that truck weigh more than that.

Best case scenario IMO, The Jeep provided somewhere around 3500 pounds additional pulling force, but I doubt it was that much....he was spinning all four wheels. :D

Not sure if I agree with your physics model. There are too many things to consider.
