Oh man, so close to my experience. I am real rusty on the O scope though. I think if it was a lower level tech job, I would be a good candidate, as I am not fully confident that I should be a lead tech at that level of diagnostics and troubleshooting. Just a bit above my pay grade, drat. Also I have no manufacturing experience. I have been doing tech work for more than ten years, mostly field repair though, almost never have had a bench. ;)

You should apply anyway. As much as we use the 'scope that shouldn't' matter. I'd never used one and picked up what I needed in a few minutes.

So...without saying too much, apply. You never know. ;)

With what you've posted, you have a pretty good chance.

I am looking for some short term work, possibly longer for the right job. I am working for a temp agency in Orem right now and working in warehouses, not really my cup of tea.:) I can operate heavy equipment, am very personable, so I do well with people too. I also have general knowledge in most construction trades. We are trying to move our family to St. George but I need something in the interim. Almost anything is better than assembly lines...right?

The company that I work for is hiring in our service department for a steam cleaning position. The position is not glamorous, but it's a foot in the door to the energy field as far as rewinding electric motors, generators, variable speed drives and other automation. The steam cleaner is responsible to steam clean motors, stators, etc to prepare for rebuilds/refurbish work. We have a full machine shop as well as motor, VFD, welder, generator, and power quality techs and specialists which means that there are lots of opportunity to move up in this company.

It's not listed on our website, but rest assured we are hiring for a steam cleaner. There are a few other positions on there, but are for outside of the Utah area.

Union Pacific will be hiring 4,000 people this year, all over the Country. Right now in Utah there are several jobs up, including a couple Track Laborer positions in Helper and Soldier Summit, which is the position I started out in. Massive potential for moving up in the company, great benefits and retirement and it's a GOOD job.

http://www.unionpacific.jobs/careers/apply/state.cfm?state=UT

If you just about want to guarantee your chances at getting a job, go get a Class B CDL license. Class A and they'd love you, but a B is a great start.

What if you have a current Class A CDL, an MBA, Excavation experience, and good business managerial experience? What type of position should one be looking at within Union Pacific?
