I think I am going to try to make it. I just got home from Top Truck today and the Scout is sort of......kind of.......not really stil running. If I have time to fix a couple things I will be there. The Scout is pretty tired right now. It might not make it through the whole event but you never know!

:rofl::rofl:

Well it sounds like you had a good time at the TCC then anyway, come on down anyway. Even if you don't think you'll be able to compete, you could come be a judge if you would like to be involved.. or just come watch and be a spectator. Its always nice to see that grandstands filled

Im gonna shoot to compete but if it doesnt happen I will come help as a volunteer for sure.

Is it looking like there is going to be a good turnout again?

Its looking pretty decent for competitors so far... We have about the same number of pre-registrants as we did last year if not a couple more... And several for-sures that will register the morning of, and a lot of maybes... We can never tell on the number of competitors for sure until the morning of the event during registration.

I'm hoping for good numbers on spectators as well, but with having a car show during the day and the stock-car races that night we may be slightly down in the spectator area...

All is well though, it's going to be an awesome day and a lot of fun one way or the other:greg:

Well I just wanted to post a quick update. Everything is going along well, we are getting the park all finalized.

I have talked to two hotels that have offered us discounts. The Holiday Inn has offered rooms at $89.99 instead of the normal $109.00. 1-435-637-8880
And the Best Western- Carriage House Inn has offered rooms at the corporate rate of $71.99 instead of the normal $79.99. 1-435-637-6550
When you register, let them know you are going to be competing at the King 4x4 Challenge and are with the Castle Country King Crawlers.

I'm still waiting for a call back from the lady over the Fair Grounds for a 100%, but the camping is not an issue. I don't know that there would be any problems with a fire if it was in a fire pan and you took the ashes out with you, or disposed of them once they cooled in a dumpster, BUT I don't have the 100% answer on the fires yet.

Just a reminder, there is no power. And there may not be any toilets until saturday morning...

There is a place with power hookups/ect that is just off Hwy 6 past the Chevron/Burger King: Not sure what their rates are, but it is an option

Ok, just got off the phone with the Fair grounds, Yes, you can camp up there, as long as you are in the parking lot area of the King Challenge Park. And Yes you can have a fire IF you have it in a fire pit and the wind is not blowing like crazy.

Hope that helps

is there still open registration the day of the comp?

Yes there will be. Please be to the Challenge Park before 8:00. If you can be there by 7:30 that would be even better.

So far I have about 6-10 that I know of that are supposed to be in the Daily driver class, but We wont know for 100% where they will run until we inspect their rig.

I'm happy just to see the Scout in person. That thing looks very competitive.
Jet_aj may have some fudge room on reg time but I know what it is like the morning of, and you would be best to aim for the set time of 8am.

So I got the Jeep ready last week on the trailer and all I had to do was hook up in the morning. Well my flight got canceled and I got stuck in PA. So Linda and I will not be there. We were looking forward to this.
