We ended up getting back to town around 9pm because Jared had the misfortune of buying a Novak radiator.... it takes a long time to get through Behind the Rocks when you have to stop every 10 minutes for the Jeep to cool down.
One of the times we were stopped....
Hiding in what shade we could find, Bart and I are sitting in his Jeep facing the other two Jeeps. I see a Jack Rabbit walking towards us from the sage brush about 15 feet out... right as I start to say something about it he gets close enough to see everyone standing around the Jeeps (there was a cedar tree in his way)... the rabbits reaction to this is to kick it into high gear... one bound, then here comes the second and I realize that it's a full on jump targeted at my lap
.... so what I started to say turned into a word that I'll never get past the curse filter..... (if he had made it in the Jeep he would have torn the **** out Bart and I).... So... rabbit flying through the air, ears laid back, teeth bared, looking like he should have a cape on.... unfortunately for said rabbit, his aim was off and he bounced off of Barts rock slider, thumped to the ground and walked off looking all sorts of drunk. He made it back to some cover and tipped over, he looked like he might just be in shock, but after a bit you could tell that he had crushed his larynx......
