I'm surprised people are shocked by this.
Really?
Could it be that the american media outlets do a piss-poor job covering the true cost of war? Remember the pictures of dead or wounded soldiers, and flagged draped coffins of vietnam? Americans were outraged and pressured the government to put an end to the conflict. The powers at be have learned not to make this mistake again thus you have to watch youtube for objective information.
I find a the attitude towards this a bit ironic. People LOSE their minds and start e-ranting about taking arms against the government because they were going to get
universal healthcare. What do you think this same group would do if a few chinese tanks rolled through daybreak and started shooting up the neighborhood? War is hell? Bet each of them would be singing a different tune.
The US is an invading and occupying army. Every time an innocent civilian get killed or wounded or we destroy their property in some random engagement, we just strengthened the opposition. I go back to my original statement that the if the US regards itself as a righteous and just nation, then it does not belong fighting a guerrilla war. Yes you put kids with massive firepower in those situations and mistakes will happen, but enough is enough. Get them out of Iraq.
Oh, and what dog does anyone here have?
