Oh, btw, I had bought a Big Hub D44 with 4.10's because I was told that the 10bolt in my truck had 3.73's, well, just to be sure, I pulled the cover and counted teeth, guess what, it has 4.10's. So, if anyone needs a D44 8 lug, let me know, if not, I'm just going to keep it for a spare.

Been spending more time on working on the truck than talking about it so here is an update,

Finally ended up just buyin some new hubs, got them installed. Got the new seats installed tonight, very comfy. Ran wire for all the lights, now I just need to hook it all up.

should have the deck of the flat bed in tomorrow, and lights and electrical hopefully done. Also need to mount the battery in a better spot, (its on the floor right now) and put mud flaps on it. oh, and finish installing the gauges, I think thats all i need to do to have it ready for the trail and get it registered, after that, Its just comforts and luxeries, and mounting the jacks and axes and stuff.

Bob, I will be up this week to get the harnesses, might be friday though, I will call you.

Well after 2 nights of working on the truck till 1:00am, we finally have it ready to hit the trail in the morning.

Bob, thanks for bringing those harness down, they work great.

Need to send a big thanks out to my dad(bronco165), Nick(ShaferNsons), Brandon, and James for all the help over the last 2 weeks to get it this far.

Got all the required lights hooked up and working tonight. Had to replace the fuse box and basically rewire the whole truck.
Got the flat bed all finished up. Harnesses installed, and did a lot of clean up work.
Still have a long way to go, be its getting there.,
I should have some pics posted up tomorrow after the trailride.

Thanks again to everyone that has contributed either time or parts to make this happen.

So I forgot my camera for the trail ride saturday so I still don't have any recent pics of it.
A couple things I found out on the trail:
Need electric fans, the flex-a-lite works great on the highway, but not on the trail at slow speeds.
Don't have enough room to clear the 38.5's. (yet) popped a couple fender bolts out.
4wd is not working, guess I have have to actually put the new hubs in.
t-case wouldn't shift into 4-lo, good thing I have a spare 203.
Need to install the stereo before EJS, boring without a radio.

think we are going to hit little moab on saturday or sunday. If anyone wants to join let me know.

What about just adding a fan clutch? My GMC cools great on the trail with a regular fan and clutch.

Going to Little Moab this weekend huh? Wheelin to weeks in a row; must be nice to have your own rig again. :greg:

I have electric fans, so it didn't cost anything to put em on. Plus, with no fan shroud or inner wheel wells or anything, the manual fan just won't cut it. got the fans on, and there is plenty of room to run the electric and the flex-a-lite. So I am.

Got the guages installed, fans working, horn installed. and some other odds and ends, painted the dash. Just need to get the wipers working, install a mirror, and put on mud flaps and I should be able to get the registration done. YOO HOO!!!

Here are some more recent pics of where its at now.

My boy loves it, first thing he did after I put him in was reach for the tcase shifter and gas pedal. (Like father like son?)

Come get this 208 and put it in.....

I see your battery is still on the passenger floor

I still want to put in the 208, just don't have the time or money before EJS, the tcase is working fine, and once I cleaned all the junk and sprayed some panther piss on the linkage, it works fine.

Yes, the battery is still on the floor, I got the stuff to build the mounts today, just ran out of time. I will get it done next week.

Going to little moab tomorrow to try out the 4wheel, and see how much more trimming I need to do on the fenders.:D

So, change of plans, we started out for little moab today to test things out, it was a little cold and windy, but nothing some carhart bibs and coat, and thermals, and a hoodie, and insulated gloves, couldn't handle. But when we got to Lehi, white out conditions, at least for someone that doesn't have wiper blades, so we bagged it and hauled butt back to the shop. My dad snagged a couple pics with his phone.

Tell me more about that dash....

I have a 241 here (Meat has the flange for it) if you can use it

What would you like to know about the dash? I got a free 10'x4' sheet of 16guage from my buddies lazer shop. Made some measurements, got out the ol' sheet metal trimmer, and cut it out. Grandad has an antique sheet metal bender from when he built horse trailers, folded up the dash quick and easy. Had to trim a little to match the radius at the bottom of the windshield. Put some end caps on it to mount it with. Drilled out a few holes for my pretty new Equus guages, and swithes. The old dash was completely gone, along with all the guages, switches, everything was gutted.

Now, about that 241? As you know, I've never been a chevy guy, so which is going to be better? the 208 or the 241? Pro's vs Con's? Driveline mods? low range ratio?

I've also got a free 208 in my parents garage. If you want it for parts or whatever let me know.
