Humate will eventually break it down, but it's not a quick process.
This is the real deal:I'm sure it's been covered here somewhere in the thread, but I'm to lazy to read through all 14 pages.
I'm fortunate because my new house has a great lawn already, but I was warned by the previous owners that purple clover was starting to creep in and had destroyed a few spots in the front yard last summer. As I'm planning on xeriscaping the front yard this fall/next spring I'm not super concerned with repairing the dead spots, but I really, really want to keep this crap out of my immaculate back yard. Does anyone have any tips?
Nice, I'll have to give it a try. This is the real deal:
Yes, I was taught it makes the grass stand up better when it's alternated. I like to see how straight I can get them. It's my ODD. (I'm odd)I love fresh mow lines in the grass. Is anybody else weird like me and you mow it a different direction every time you mow?

My lawn is almost completely returned to dirt. I still mow it every few weeks to keep it looking trimmed. It's depressing.I love how Davis county was on 1 water per week and just last week we got permission to do 2 waters per week for 15 minutes each.
My lawn will never recover. Enjoy it down-stream. LOL

You guys actually follow the .gov water restrictions? My lawn is almost completely returned to dirt. I still mow it every few weeks to keep it looking trimmed. It's depressing.
I'm letting mine die so I can xeriscape next spring. You guys actually follow the .gov water restrictions?
I cut back over what we have done in the past but.... I live in an area where we were required to put so much grass in and Ill be damned if I let it die on orders from the same people that required I install it.
Ill happily take my chances, I know how a water meter works and easily turn it back on the city can eat a bag of (insert illicit word here) before they shut off my water.@skippy they are turning off people's secondary water who aren't following restrictions.
Tree hugger.
